yami no malik: winged dragon of ra
The Winged Dragon of Ra is Yami no Malik's key card in his deck. It's one of three of the Egyptian God Cards and extremely powerful (if not the most), supposedly invincible however as proven in the final battle on the ship, it can be defeated.
The Dragon itself, has golden scales adorning it's body, and crimson eyes... that, and it's gigantic in size ^_^
Abilities
The Winged Dragon comes with six abilities (info borrowed from Absolute Anime):
Point to Point transfers all but one Life Point to Ra's combined ATK/DEF.
Immediate Attack allows Ra to attack right away after being summoned from the graveyard.
Collective Monsters makes Ra's Attack and Defense equal to the ATK and DEF of the three monsters sacrificed to summon Ra.
Command makes it so Ra can only be truly summoned and controlled if the person who sacrificed the three monsters also chanted a special language called Hieratic, which forces Ra to grant the chanter control of Ra. But there is a drawback... if your opponent chanted Hieratic first, then your opponent has the power of Ra on his side.
God Phoenix allows payment of exactly 1000 Life Points to destroy one monster on the field. It also works on God cards, but the destroyed Egyptian God returns to grace the field by next turn. Once again, God cards are not affected by Magic, Trap, Monster Effects, or God effects.
Sacrificial allows the sacrificing of another monster to increase Ra's Attack and Defense even more. Sacrificing an Egyptian God would boost Ra's stats, and said sacrificed God would return the next turn to be sacrificed...again.
Its attack and defense power rely on on the combined attack and defense points of the three monsters that were sacrificed to summon it. This detail was not known by Yami Bakura when he summoned the Winged Dragon during the duel between himself and Yami Marik.
control
The only means that the Dragon can be controlled, is if the user can decipher and recite the incarnation on the base of the card - something Yami Marik is quite capable of achieving. The chant goes as so:
'Great Beast of the sky please hear my cry, transform thyself from orb of light and bring me victory in this fight. Envelope the desert with your glow and cast your rage upon my foe. Appear in this shadow game as I call your name... Winged Dragon of Ra!'
Malik attempted and failed countless times to produce a functioning counterfeit version of the card to have Rishid use for dueling to convince the ‘enemy’ he was Malik himself. Nevertheless, when the Winged Dragon was summoned to the field when played, it did not respond to any commands given by Rishid instead attacking both opponents on the field in fury.
